We (and all our luggage) have made it safely onboard the ms Rotterdam, and we are now settling into the "cruising" lifestyle (and yes - they DO have shuffleboard tournaments here, in case you were wondering) - woo-hoooo! We have set one rule so far - no using the elevators there are 9 levels on the ship - we have to make up for the nightly 3 course dinners somehow
The trip here was relatively uneventful - I wasn't expecting it, but we were able to travel business class - and got to sit in the new "pods" - my seat fully reclined into a bed - loved it! Got into Amsterdam Saturday morning, took an airport shuttle to our hotel, and then walked the streets of Amsterdam......canal cruise, red light district, Anne Frank's house, "Coffee" shops, and dinner in a nice Italian restaurant near our hotel....The hotel is actually a series of canal houses built in 1613, and features several VERY steep flights of stairs.
Sunday, it was time to head to Rotterdam to board the ship - took the very efficient metro/train system - a bit of challenge with 3 suitcases, but not bad at all...and got there with time to spare....
Well - I'm off to play some bingo...must go (I'm kidding!!!) Going to read a book by the pool and get some sea air......
